About Within Reach!

This ministry began as a simple blog in March of 2005.  The author (Paul McDonald) started the blog for posting thoughts of spiritual nature and hoping to drive discussion among friends.  As many blogs went, this one started very slow and ground to a halt in November 2006 to thunderous silence.

In September of 2023, Paul challenged himself to give back to the world and to serve God through his skills.  With that same "thunderous silence" that halted this blog seventeen years ago, he brought it back up.

In this re-start, there was no focus--just getting started was the plan.  Early into the blog, Paul found that he could quickly assemble a short Bible study that would be suitable for any individual or small group who has limited time but an unlimited desire to seek after God's own heart.  These lessons began their assembly and built a trend of now daily lessons that can assist anyone with a personal study or group study.

About the Author

Paul McDonald is an IT professional with over three decades of career experience.  With a profound commitment to serving God and despite not being an ordained pastor, Paul's life journey has been a testament to transformation. From running businesses and managing teams to embracing the core tenets of servanthood, his perspective on life has been shaped by the challenges and victories of his professional endeavors.

Driven by a passion for change and a deep sense of servitude, Paul finds inspiration in the vibrant energy of youth, particularly his son, Jackson. He believes in empowering the younger generation, envisioning a world where youthful wisdom guides our path, a philosophy rooted in his own spiritual evolution.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Paul is deeply engaged in serving youth organizations, advocating against bullying in all its forms. His dedication to eliminating bullying stems from his own past as a former bully, embodying the belief that stopping such behavior begins with understanding and transformation.

In his free time, Paul channels his energy into meaningful service, aligning his values of faith, family, and freedom with actions that make a difference. Through his book, Paul not only shares spiritual insights but also reflects the journey of a man transformed, inviting readers to embrace urgency and purpose in their lives.

Paul lives in Overland Park, Kansas with his wife Kristine and son Jackson.
